Antique 9ct Yellow Gold & Sterling Silver Masonic Orb Cross Pendant
An antique masonic orb cross pendant made of 9ct yellow gold and sterling silver circa early 20th century.
This masonic ball pendant is a transforming piece of jewellery. When closed, the pendant forms an orb with delicate engraved detail to the top. When opened it transforms into a cross consisting of hinged panels each with a sterling silver pyramid featuring engraved masonic symbols and geometric motifs.
Masonic ball pendants were typically attached to a gentleman's watch chain, many originating in the Victorian and Edwardian period. Fitted with a loop bale this masonic orb pendant can be worn on a chain up to approximately 5mm wide.
